From the Top of the World on Galiano Island, a fresh snowfall blankets the Douglas firs and arbutus trees overlooking Active Pass and the Southern Gulf Islands.
There is a beautiful hush in the air, that fleeting moment when every branch holds its covering of snow. Soon the winter winds will begin to move through the trees, sending their snowy blankets tumbling to the forest floor. But for now, the snow rests gently on every branch, and the landscape is held in stillness.
