First Blossoms, watercolour on paper, 2006. Two magnificent Japanese cherry trees guarded our driveway in our home in Abbotsford. They were the latest cherry blossom trees to bloom in our neighbourhood. This spring I brought in several pruned branches and watches the leaves and flowers unfurl. For this piece I captured the promise of the buds with the other neighbourhood trees, already in bloom, behind.
