Homesick for Galiano, Galiano Island Landscape Acrylic Painting on Stretched Canvas, 12″ x 16″, 2017, Sold
Away from home for three months, I was pining for Coon Bay, Galiano Island, now named Dionisio Point Provincial Park. This is the place my heart turns to, the wild, wonderful northern edge of my world. Garry oak, arbutus and douglas fir cling to the rocky earth birthed in glacier waves. Honeycomb sandstone dripping with warmth invites me to join the water’s edge and float in it’s gentle arms. Sunny breezes from far away breathe their stories through the pass. Come home, come home to Galiano. I did come home, right through my brush strokes, home to Galiano!
