Inspired by the misty mornings that curl around the Southern Gulf Islands and play hide and seek with the hills and valleys of this place we call home. It’s why we come to Galiano…to sit at the feet of the forest and learn a new way of being. In this painting the meditator is invited to learn the lessons of the forest. A young Douglas fir, suffering a loss through the storm, has grown in a new direction. The ancient Douglas fir has found a new purpose serving as a home for forest creatures. The light seeking arbutus shows the way.
